What I would carry in the war

Besides necessary objects like water, food, and clothes, I would carry things that would remind me of home. Things like family pictures, letters, and notes. They would distract me from the horrible circumstances and always leave me with the hope that I will return to see my family again.

  1. The idea of creating a distraction from "the horrors of war" is a very common theme in the average person's life. In everyday life, people tend to spend some portion of their day immersing themselves in something outside of the real world, like a book, in order to distract themselves from whatever predicament they may be dealing with. An escape from everyday life helps people maintain their mental health and in some cases (like in war), maintain their sanity.
